Here are some general guidelines to ensure a great flight for you and your belongings. All of us at Air Flamenco are committed to handling your baggage with the outmost care. We hope the following information will assist you with your baggage planning.

  1. During the normal rigors of air travel your luggage will be transported on conveyor belts and travel on baggage carts and may encounter weather conditions such as rain, wind or sun light. In addition your luggage will move and shift during take off, flight and landing.
  2. Identification: All items are required to have identification on them, and we strongly recommend identification inside as well.
  3. Claim Checks: Check that you have a claim check for each piece of baggage and that the bags are being checked to the appropriate destination. At your destination make sure you check the numbers against the receipt to be certain you have your luggage and not someone else’s.
  4. Valuables: Never check laptop computers, jewelry, keys, medication, audio or video equipment or other electronics, travel documents, passports, cash, legal documents, antiques etc. in checked baggage.
  1. Checked Baggage: We accept 1 piece of checked baggage and 1 piece of carry-on per ticketed passenger with a maximum total weight of 25 lbs. and size of 62 linear inches (157 cm) (total length + width + height).
  2. Excess Baggage: Excess baggage is transported on a space available basis and additional charges may apply. If we place an excess tag on one or more of your bags it does not necessarily mean the bag will not get on the flight.
  3. Overweight Baggage: Air Flamenco will charge $.70 cents per additional Pound . We cannot accept baggage weighing over 70 lbs.
  4. Fishing Equipment: We accept fishing equipment. We can not be liable for damage to fishing equipment not packed in hard side case. A limited release tag is required.
  5. Unusually shaped objects: Bicycles, surfboards, canoes, kayaks and other such large pieces or sporting equipment exceed the capacity of the compartments and are not accepted for transport.
  6. Golf Bags: We accept golf bags however, we cannot be liable for loss or damage to equipment in open golf bags.

  1. Air Flamenco accepts pets on our flights* however, advance reservations are recommended. Only one pet per aircraft may be booked confirmed space. Pets are approved for travel on a first-come, first-served basis. Multiple pets from the same family are permitted on the same aircraft; however it is possible that, due to space or weight constraints, the passenger and pets may not be able to be accommodated on any particular flight. Multiple pets from different families are not permitted on the same aircraft.
  2. There’s a $10 fee per pet, each way. kennel is required in all flights. Pets must be accompanied by a traveling passenger.
  3. Air Flamenco accept assembled pet kennel that will fit on our airplane measures with dimensions up to 27″x20″x19″.

The Transportation Security Administration is implementing new security measures including a prohibition of the transportation on board domestic or international flights to or from the U.S. of printer or toner cartridges weighing 16 ounces or more. Accordingly, effective Monday, November 8, 2010, passengers are prohibited from transporting these items in either carry-on or checked baggage.

  1. No household items: bleaches drain cleaners and solvents contain dangerous chemicals which can cause toxic fumes and corrosion.
  2. No flammable liquids: fuel, paints, solvents, adhesives, alcoholic beverages higher than 140 proof and flammable gases such as lighter refills and camping gas might leak and cause a fire.
  3. No fireworks: signal flares and other explosives which might detonate due to their sensitive nature.
  4. No other hazardous materials: strike-anywhere matches, gasoline-powered tools, spray cans, self-inflating rafts, wet-cell batteries, poisons, infectious substances, mace and pepper spray.
  5. No oxygen tanks.
  6. Wheelchairs: Only wheelchairs with certain types of batteries will be accepted.
All reservations must be prepaid in advance to guarantee the seats. Tickets are non-refundable and non- transferable. If the passenger has the ticket himself and lost the returning porting,a new ticket has to pay in full for returning flight.

Cancellation has to be made at least 24hrs in advance by the credit card holder by contacting our office during operational hours. If the customer and/or Air Flamenco cancel the services the ticket will be valid for one year from the date of issue. Further use is limited to available seats on operational days.

Changes of times or dates are subject to availability and have a penalty of $20.00 per segment, per change.

Air Flamenco. do not assume any responsibilities for expenses resulting from failure to departures or arrival times stated not for the failure to make connections to other flights.

All passengers are allowed 25 pounds of luggage. The excess will be transported on space available only and will be charged at $0.70 per pound. One single bag cannot exceed 70 pounds.

Air Flamenco, RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL YOUR SEAT AFTER CHECK IN , IF BEHAVIOR REPRESENTS A THREAT TO THE SAFETY OF THE FLIGHT. (Ex. Too sick or drunk, with a nervous breakdown, etc.)

All flights will be closed 15 minutes before departure. Walk up passenger may be accepted after this. This will be handled by company personnel only.

All flights may have one or two stops before final destination. You will be informed about it at the check in.
Air Flamenco reserves the right to cancel any schedule flights as a result of weather conditions, mechanical problems with the aircraft and for other reasons of “Force Majeure”.

    Our Humble Beginnings

    Flamenco Airways was founded in 1976 by Rubén Torres Senior and later directed by Noemí González, father and mother of Rubén and Francisco.

  • 1998

    Air Flamenco is Born

    Founded by Rubén and Francisco (Paco) Torres, their main objective is to provide the excellence service once provided by Flamenco Airways to Culebra and Vieques Islands. The Torres brothers started to provide services with a Cherokee 6 which has a capacity for 5 passengers. Those flights took place between the islands of Culebra and Vieques. Six months after initial operation they adquired their first twin engine BN2 Islander with a capacity of 9 passengers. With this new aircraft their service expanded with more passenger routes and US postal service between the two islands of Vieques and Culebra and the main island of Puerto Rico.

    Fleet Expansion

    Five years after beign established, Air Flamenco increased its fleet to 9 aircrafts expanding its services and charter flights throughout the Caribbean Islands including US and British Virgin Islands.

    General Expansion

    With the operations expansion Air Flamenco expanded its skilled personnel manpower. Air Flamenco with its highly qualified Federal Aviation Administration approved pilots, support and service personnel are distributed among five locations: San Juan Isla Grande Airport, San Juan Int’l Airport, Ceiba Airport, Culebra Airport, and Vieques Airport. Management and Administrative personnel are located in the corporate offices in San Juan, Puerto Rico.The objective and commitment of Air Flamenco is to provide you a safe and excellent service, keep improving, and expanding operations maintaining a very high QUALITY service. Our expertise and resources throughout the Caribbean region enable us to construct tailor made travel packages to suit all individual budgets with a personal treatment… Always!
